The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma by
Bessel van der Kolk.
An essential read for understanding how trauma affects the body and mind and exploring various therapeutic approaches for healing. I recommend LISTENING to this on audible as the text in this book is very small.

Waking the Tiger: Healing Trauma by Peter A. Levine.  This book provides insights into how trauma affects the body and offers techniques for overcoming it.

A Practical Guide to Complex Trauma by Arielle Schwartz. Compassionate strategies to begin healing from childhood.

Healing the Shame That Binds You by John Bradshaw. This book addresses the impact of shame and offers guidance on overcoming it, which can be particularly relevant for those with trauma histories.

The Happiness Trap by Russ Harris. The book provides tools and exercises to help individuals deal with negative thoughts and emotions, fostering a more resilient and meaningful approach to well-being.

How to do the work by Nicole LePera. This book combines insights from psychology with practical exercises to help readers understand and transform their behavior patterns and cultivate a more empowered and fulfilling life.

Explain Pain by David S. Butler and Lorimer Moseley. This book is a comprehensive guide that explains the science of pain and how understanding it can help individuals manage and reduce chronic pain. The book provides accessible explanations of how pain works in the brain and body, alongside practical strategies for pain management and rehabilitation.

Apps I recommend:

Curable is an app designed to help users manage and overcome chronic pain through evidence-based psychological techniques, including mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and education.

Calm is an app that provides guided meditation, sleep stories, and relaxation exercises to help users reduce stress, improve sleep, and enhance overall well-being.
